About Me

The Face Behind The Chains

Hi! I'm Eggy

I started making chainmail just to see if I could in late 2024. As someone who always felt creative at heart, but had never found a creative outlet that I felt I was good enough at, this wasn’t something that clicked right away for me. After several frustrating attempts, I would put it down for a couple days and find another youtube tutorial and try again. And after working at it for weeks, I made my first (very ambitious) piece. I have more details on that below, but she was large and frankly, a bit insane to attempt for a first foray into chainmail. But, I am nothing if not stubborn and inspired, and once I proved to myself that I could make a piece of that size, everything else felt achievable. to some degree.

After that, I started making small pieces of jewelry for friends, acquaintances, friends of friends, and as word of mouth goes I was getting a few commissions a month. I between those commissions though, I had free time to make what I wanted, and boy did I make.  I had my first tabling experience with a near and dear group of community organizers, at a bar of all places, and it was wildly successful. I'll be forever grateful to anyone and everyone that looks at, talks about, purchases my pieces because without you, there'd be no Runny Links,

My First Piece

To this day, I'm not sure why but the first piece I ever attempted was a bralette with several complicated steps (as a beginner).

I proudly display her at every market I can, and answer how long she took me with "much longer than it would take me now".

But, I am endlessly proud of attempting a difficult piece to begin, and giving myself the confidence to expand after that. If you're considering attempting that ambitious project or hobby, let this be your sign to just go for it and learn as you do.
